Plug the gap

Tess Blazey, Director of Policy and External Affairs for Floventis Energy has responded to the publication of a report on offshore wind by Renewable UKCymru.

She said: “Both Welsh and UK Governments need to do more if they are going to meet their own targets for renewable energy. This means supporting test and demonstration sites like Llyr 1&2 because, like other projects in the Celtic Sea, they are the launch pad for the floating offshore wind industry and without them it simply won’t happen. We need a CfD framework that is fit for purpose and delivers value along with a consistent and clear consenting process. As Renewable UK Cymru rightly say, the alternative is that we deter investment and lose the opportunity for good.”
